Khorovats

Khorovats is an Armenian grilled meat dish traditionally reserved for festive occasions, made with lamb, pork, beef, chicken, fish or veal. The meat may be marinated before cooking, though this is not required, and it is typically grilled on skewers called shampoor over a tonir, a traditional cylindrical clay oven, though steaks or chops grilled without skewers are also used.
