Musk stick

Musk sticks are a semi-soft, typically pink fondant confection popular in Australia, usually extruded with a ridged, star-shaped cross-section and also known as musk sweets or musk lollies. Their flavor and aroma are distinctly floral and, as the name suggests, reminiscent of musk. Their exact origin is uncertain, but they date back at least to 1887, when a Launceston newspaper reported a confectioner importing rose and musk lozenges. They remain widely popular in Australia today, with one major supermarket chain alone reportedly selling about 24 million musk sticks a year.
