Oblea

Oblea is a wafer dessert eaten in several Latin American countries, most closely associated with Colombia, made of two thin round wafers pressed from batter between heated plates. The wafers are filled with sweet ingredients such as arequipe, a caramelized milk, along with jam, cheese, fruit or whipped cream, and are often finished with condensed milk, chocolate, coconut or fruit sauce. The name comes from the Old French oblaye and the Late Latin oblata, a word originally used for an offering or Eucharistic bread.
