Some yeast species can develop multicellular characteristics, forming chains of connected budding cells known as pseudohyphae, or evolving quickly into multicellular clusters with specialized organelle functions; yeast cells vary greatly in size depending on species and environment, typically measuring 3 to 4 micrometers in diameter, though some can grow to 40 micrometers, and most reproduce asexually by mitosis, many through the asymmetric division process known as budding.YeastConnectionsIn the Other AtlasesSourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)YeastFilter Results12 entriesDish FamilyAllEast Asian Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)European Breads and Pastries (5)European Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)Middle Eastern and North African Breads and Pastries (2)Middle Eastern and North African Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)Sub-Saharan African Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (2)CuisineAllAshkenazi Jewish Cuisine (1)Chinese Cuisine (1)Danish Cuisine (1)Dutch Cuisine (1)Egyptian Cuisine (1)Ethiopian Cuisine (1)Indian Cuisine (2)Kenyan Cuisine (1)Lebanese Cuisine (1)Middle Eastern Cuisine (2)Nigerian Cuisine (1)Polish Cuisine (2)Portuguese Cuisine (1)Spanish Cuisine (1)Tunisian Cuisine (1)Ukrainian Cuisine (1)Era (Origin Period)All900 (1)1171 (1)1610 (1)1800 (2)TraditionAllBread Baking (6)Cacao Fermentation and Chocolate Making (1)Kashrut (Jewish Dietary Law) (1)New Year Feast Traditions (1)Street Food Culture (2)Format/TypeAllEast Asian Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)European Breads and Pastries (5)European Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)Middle Eastern and North African Breads and Pastries (2)Middle Eastern and North African Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)Sub-Saharan African Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (2)CourseAllDessert (3)Snack or Street Food (2)Dietary SuitabilityAllContains Dairy or Egg (1)Origin RegionAllAfrica (2)China (1)Denmark (1)East Africa (1)Iran (1)Netherlands (1)Nigeria (1)Poland (2)Portugal (1)Spain (1)The Levant (1)Ukraine (1)West Africa (1)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 12BabkaYeastBagelYeastBolo do cacoYeastGalician BreadYeastHotteokYeastMandaziYeastNaanYeastOliebolYeastPuff-PuffYeastQatayefYeastTebirkesYeastZalabiyehYeastConnectionsUsed ByBabka, Dishes Well-attested Source Babka (Wikipedia)tier 3Bagel, Dishes Well-attested Bolo do caco, Dishes Well-attested Source Bolo do caco (Wikipedia)Galician Bread, Dishes Well-attested Source Galician bread (Wikipedia)Hotteok, Dishes Well-attested Source Hotteok (Wikipedia)Kombucha, Drinks Well-attested Source Kombucha (Wikipedia)tier 3Mandazi, Dishes Well-attested Source Mandazi, WikipediaNaan, Dishes Well-attested Source Naan (Wikipedia)tier 3Oliebol, Dishes Well-attested Source Oliebol (Wikipedia)Puff-Puff, Dishes Well-attested Source Puff-puff (Wikipedia)Qatayef, Dishes Well-attested Source Qatayef (Wikipedia)Tebirkes, Dishes Well-attested Source Tebirkes (Wikipedia)Zalabiyeh, Dishes Well-attested Source Zalabiyeh (Wikipedia)In the Other AtlasesSame AsYeastAlso in Nature Atlas: the same subject.SourcesWikidata: YeastWikidata Q45422, class allow-list match (w-wdresolver-0926)View the SourceNaan (Wikipedia)tier 3WikipediaUsed By: Naan, Infobox main_ingredient field: Flour, yeast, salt, sugar, ghee, waterView the SourceMandazi, WikipediaUsed By: Mandazi, Infobox main_ingredient field: Water, sugar, flour, yeast, and milk (coconut milk in mahamri or mamri)View the SourcePuff-puff (Wikipedia)Used By: Puff-Puff, Infobox main_ingredient field: Flour, yeast, sugar, salt, butter, water, eggs, vegetable oilView the SourceTebirkes (Wikipedia)Used By: Tebirkes, Infobox main_ingredient field: flour, butter, milk, white sugar, yeast, eggs, marzipan, poppy seedsView the SourceHotteok (Wikipedia)Used By: Hotteok, Infobox main_ingredient field: Dough: wheat flour, water, milk, sugar, yeast;
