Home›Dishes›Main Ingredient›CreamIngredientCreamDairy and Egg ProductsReference and ClassificationDevelopingCream is a dairy product composed of the higher-fat layer skimmed from the top of milk before homogenization, formed because the less dense butterfat rises to the top of the milk and can be skimmed off, producing what is called gravity cream, though industrial production instead uses centrifugal separators to make separator cream. Cream is often sold in grades defined by their butterfat content and contains high levels of saturated fat, rising in proportion from light cream to heavy cream. Cream skimmed from milk may be called sweet cream to distinguish it from cream skimmed from whey, a cheese-making byproduct, which has a lower fat content and a saltier, tangier, cheesier taste; in many countries partially fermented cream is also sold as sour cream or creme fraiche, with both fresh and fermented forms carrying many culinary uses in sweet and savory dishes alike.FactsCreamConnectionsSourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)FactsClassificationAllergenWell-attestedMilk 1CreamFilter Results23 entriesDish FamilyAllCold Appetizers and Small Plates (1)Confections and Candies (1)Desserts and Sweet Puddings (2)European Breads and Pastries (2)European Grain and Starch Dishes (3)European Noodles and Dumplings (1)European Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)European Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (4)Latin American and Caribbean Soups (1)Latin American and Caribbean Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)North American Noodle Dishes (1)North American Rice and Grain Dishes (1)Shaved Ice and Frozen Desserts (1)Soup Types and Instant Soups (1)South Asian Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (2)CuisineAllAmerican Cuisine (1)Basque Cuisine (1)British Cuisine (3)French Cuisine (2)German Cuisine (1)Indian Cuisine (4)Lebanese Cuisine (1)Mexican Cuisine (2)Pakistani Cuisine (1)Peruvian Cuisine (1)Polish Cuisine (2)Spanish Cuisine (1)Swedish Cuisine (4)Swiss Cuisine (2)Turkish Cuisine (1)Era (Origin Period)All1200 (1)1747 (1)1788 (1)1790 (1)1821 (1)1870 (1)1928 (1)1947 (1)1950 (1)1953 (1)1976 (1)1988 (1)2020 (1)TraditionAllCheesemaking (1)Christmas Feast Traditions (1)Easter Food Traditions (1)Lenten Fasting Foods (1)Format/TypeAllCold Appetizers and Small Plates (1)Confections and Candies (1)Desserts and Sweet Puddings (2)European Breads and Pastries (2)European Grain and Starch Dishes (3)European Noodles and Dumplings (1)European Roasted, Grilled and Fried Dishes (1)European Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (4)Latin American and Caribbean Soups (1)Latin American and Caribbean Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)North American Noodle Dishes (1)North American Rice and Grain Dishes (1)Shaved Ice and Frozen Desserts (1)Soup Types and Instant Soups (1)South Asian Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (2)CourseAllDessert (5)Main Course (1)Side Dish (1)Soup (2)Dietary SuitabilityAllContains Dairy or Egg (11)Contains Fish or Shellfish (1)Contains Meat or Poultry (5)Origin RegionAllBolivia (1)Chile (1)Finland (1)France (2)India (1)Italy (1)Lebanon (1)Mexico (2)Minnesota (1)Peru (1)Poland (2)Punjab (1)Spain (1)Sweden (3)Switzerland (2)Turkey (1)United Kingdom (3)United States (1)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 23ÄlplermagronenCreamBasque CheesecakeCreamBlancmangeCreamChicken ChettinadCreamChiles en NogadaCreamChupeCreamCoronation ChickenCreamCream soupCreamDal MakhaniCreamDondurmaCreamFlying JacobCreamGratin dauphinoisCreamJansson's TemptationCreamKedgereeCreamKrówkiCreamLayali lubnanCreamManoomin PorridgeCreamMashed PotatoCreamOstkakaCreamPasta with strawberriesCreamRajas con cremaCreamTetrazziniCreamZürcher GeschnetzeltesCreamConnectionsAssociated WithButter, Ingredients Well-attested Clotted Cream, Ingredients Well-attested Cream Cheese, Ingredients Well-attested Creme Fraiche, Ingredients Well-attested Mascarpone, Ingredients Well-attested Milk, Ingredients Well-attested Whipped Cream, Ingredients Well-attested Carries AllergenMilk, Ingredients Well-attested Used ByÄlplermagronen, Dishes Well-attested Source Alplermagronen (Wikipedia)Basque Cheesecake, Dishes Well-attested Source Basque Cheesecake (Wikipedia)Blancmange, Dishes Well-attested Source Blancmange (Wikipedia)Chicken Chettinad, Dishes Well-attested Source Chicken Chettinad (Wikipedia)Chiles en Nogada, Dishes Well-attested Source Wikipedia: Chiles en nogadaChupe, Dishes Well-attested Source Chupe -
