Macaroni is produced in elbow and straight forms and is used in salads, soups and baked casseroles across many cuisines.FactsMacaroniConnectionsIn the Other AtlasesSourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)FactsEarliest Documented Use, From (Year)Well-attestedfrom 1390 2Origin RegionWell-attestedItaly 3ClassificationAllergenWell-attestedCereals Containing Gluten 1MacaroniFilter Results8 entriesDish FamilyAllEuropean Grain and Starch Dishes (1)European Noodles and Dumplings (2)European Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)Middle Eastern and North African Rice and Grain Dishes (1)North American Noodle Dishes (1)Pasta and Potato Salads (1)Southeast Asian Soups (1)CuisineAllAmerican Cuisine (1)British Cuisine (1)Egyptian Cuisine (1)Greek Cuisine (1)Indonesian Cuisine (1)Middle Eastern Cuisine (1)Swedish Cuisine (1)Era (Origin Period)All1769 (1)1853 (1)TraditionAllChristmas Feast Traditions (1)New Year Feast Traditions (1)Ramadan and Eid Feasting Traditions (1)Street Food Culture (1)Format/TypeAllEuropean Grain and Starch Dishes (1)European Noodles and Dumplings (2)European Stews, Braises and Sauced Dishes (1)Middle Eastern and North African Rice and Grain Dishes (1)North American Noodle Dishes (1)Pasta and Potato Salads (1)Southeast Asian Soups (1)CourseAllMain Course (1)Side Dish (1)Snack or Street Food (1)Soup (1)Dietary SuitabilityAllContains Dairy or Egg (3)Contains Meat or Poultry (3)Origin RegionAllEgypt (1)Greece (1)Italy (1)United Kingdom (1)United States (1)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 8American chop sueyMacaroniKosharyMacaroniMacaroni and CheeseMacaroniMacaroni casseroleMacaroniMacaroni pieMacaroniMacaroni saladMacaroniMacaroni soupMacaroniPastitsadaMacaroniConnectionsAssociated WithSemolina, Ingredients Well-attested Carries AllergenCereals Containing Gluten, Ingredients Well-attested Used ByAmerican chop suey, Dishes Well-attested Source American chop suey (Wikipedia)Koshary, Dishes Well-attested Source Koshary (Wikipedia)Macaroni and Cheese, Dishes Well-attested Source Macaroni and cheese - WikipediaMacaroni casserole, Dishes Well-attested Source Macaroni casserole (Wikipedia)Macaroni pie, Dishes Well-attested Source Macaroni pie (Wikipedia)Macaroni salad, Dishes Well-attested Source Macaroni salad (Wikipedia)Macaroni soup, Dishes Well-attested Source Macaroni soup (Wikipedia)Pastitsada, Dishes Well-attested Source Pastitsada (Wikipedia)In the Other AtlasesOriginated InItalyAlso in Geography Atlas: where this subject originated.Source Macaroni (Wikipedia)Sources1.
